Once the valleys of South Wales were busy places filled with coal mines
and steel works. The Rhondda became famous by the novel 'How Green Was My Valley'
which tells the story of the miners.
The generous support of the National Coal Board made the following
photographs possible.
Sadly little of what has been captured in the images has remained.
I am wondering, what might have happened to all those friendly miners,
who gave me any possible help when I visited the area.
